Update Dec 2019, I'm bumping this up from 3 stars to 4 stars because they have taken some abuse like I would give a heavier sock, and they have come out OK. Fine for shoes, not IMO for boots But OK you can wear the same socks to the office and just change your shoes if you need to saw wood or garden or whatever. Following is my original review.

    Here's my pros and cons

Pros - cotton and feels like it, somewhat thicker than most men's socks, OK for casual or business wear, does not look like gym socks, stays up, a decent amount of elastic but the leggings still feel like cotton.

Cons - more expensive and not as thick as the competition which would be Gold Toe Cotton Fluffies. I wager they won't last as long either. Little or maybe no reinforcement at the toe (not thicker or maybe only a tiny bit).

Final judgment - I decided to keep them but it was close. As a matter of fact they resemble cotton socks I got at Walmart on one occasion. Those were OK socks for like 1/2 the price of these, lasted a year or two. We'll see how long these ones last.

These were way too expensive to deal with them sagging around my ankles. I liked the color for my gray khakis but I will just stick with the other brands that don't don't sag (I have several). Unless you like socks bunched around your ankles do yourself a favor and shop another brand.

I looked everywhere I could think of to find these basic classic cotton socks. I have no idea why you can't go to a store anymore and buy socks like these. All the men's socks nowadays are either thin dress socks or very thick hiking socks. Or, if they are closer to this in-between thickness then they are long, almost knee socks. I looked at nice department stores and big box discount stores and stores like Marshall's and Ross as well. They just don't seem to make this type anymore. Also most of the socks these days have very little cotton if any in them. I get that. They are trying to save money by making everything out of cheap synthetics, which I personally can't stand. I much prefer natural fibers, especially cotton. So I was happy to find these socks made by Land's End. I hope they will keep making them for years to come. They are worth the price!

They are fine for the first use. Then they stretch out and won’t stay up. Slide down in your shoe and bunch up at the toes.
    Cheap crap.

These socks are great. Most socks grab my calves and leave major indentations when I take them off. These socks are very comfortable and aren't too tight around the calves. Love them.

He likes them. Hard to find decent socks for size 10-13 or so. These are fine so far.

Annoying - constantly sliding down my ankles from the day I opened them.

Very well-made but these run large.
