Socks. We often take them for granted in this day and age. In our modern world of throw-away, disposable culture it may seem ridiculous to spend $12-20 on a single pair of socks, when you can go to a big box store and buy a 6 or 10 pack for the same price. I am here to tell you that these socks are worth it. Its a life-changing experience, really. You have to change the way you think about money, value, material things, and lifestyle. I recently challenged myself to change the way I think about both my style and expenditures on everything from the extravagant to the pedestrian. Its paying off. My approach now is to pay top-dollar for quality products made by American companies that stand behind what they make with a lifetime warranty. You can't go wrong with these socks. They are comfortable in hot and cold weather and take abuse. When (if) they wear out, return them for upgrades. Its an investment. Your feet and your life is worth it. You save money in the long run. Your closet remains clutter-free. I own 6 pair of Darn Tough, for work, play and the gym. I honestly don't think I will need to buy socks ever again, but they make so many cool styles and colorways, its probably inevitable that I will. I strongly recommend The following:

    -Merino Wool Micro Crew Cushion
-Merino Wool No-Show Light Cushion Athletic
    -1/4 Merino Wool Ultra-Light Athletic

Pass socks to your grandkids? sounds crazy, but these are worthy.

In Oct. 2014 I bought my first pair of Darn Tough boot socks for work (road construction). I liked them so well I overhauled my sock wardrobe, buying enough pairs through mid 2015 so that now that's all I wear. All 14 pairs fit and feel great, wash well, and are still going strong with minimal to no shrink and pilling - even with no special babying. I just throw them in the washing machine and dryer along with everything else and they're good to go.

I also bought some thinner, short Darn Tough socks for wearing with my tennis shoes last year (2017) and they are fantastic too. All the Darn Tough socks I've tried have an "elastic-like, yet comfortable, all-over grip; and they don't fall down, or move around and bunch up inside your boots or shoes. I wear these Fred Tuttle Cushion Micro Crew socks with work boots almost exclusively, year around, hot or cold, outside.

Recently I bought my adult son 4 pairs of the same boot sock I constantly wear and love, and he advises they fit "excellent" and he likes them. So I plan (over time, as the initial outlay is expensive) to replace his sock wardrobe through Christmas, birthday, etc. gifts.

You'll initially pay more for these socks. But for quality and longevity you can't beat them. I'm sold and would recommend to anyone.

I work in Law Enforcement and have to wear dark socks 6-7 days a week. The dye on the cotton socks bleeds on to my feet and get sock fuzz all on them. These socks are comfortable and there are none of the negative issues I’ve experienced with the cotton socks. Also, they wick moisture really well. They’re more expensive than ordinary socks, but they have a life time no questions asked warranty, so I figure it evens out. I’ve went on to buy several more pairs in different colors for when I’m not at work. Darn Tough makes an excellent product and it’s backed up with excellent customer support. I’ll pay extra for 5 star customer support and that’s what Darn Tough offers.

I can't say enough good things about Darn Tough Socks. They feel so comfortable that other socks feel like burlap saps around my feet. They never get smelly, even when I wear them in smelly shoes (what sort of black magic makes that work?!) and are just as comfortable and smell-free the second day (sometimes you just have to wear socks twice without washing).

My feet are size 12W and the large size fits them perfectly.

I purchased my first pair of these socks over two years ago, and after being worn roughly 250 times (including many times indoors without shoes) a tiny hole emerged on the ball of one of them. Darn Tough is in the process of processing a guarantee request and shipping me replacement socks. Short of their CEO personally delivering new socks to my house, I can't imagine a better customer service experience.

I only buy Darn Tough Socks anymore.

I've been looking for socks that don't cut off the circulation in my calves from being too tight in the upper part of the sock. I ordered these in extra large hoping that they would suffice. Unfortunately, while the lower part of the sock is extra large the upper part is the same size as all other sizes no matter whether they're medium, large or extra large. So I can't wear these because like all other socks they're too tight around the calf.

Does anyone know of a sock that doesn't squeeze one's calf until it leaves an impression in the skin for hours?

These socks are made with 63% Merino Wool, 33% Nylon, and 4% Lycra® Spandex (according to the Darn Tough product page). The socks feel like a thin slipper for each foot. I was expecting them to be slightly thicker, but after wearing them for a couple of hours, I didn't mind at all. I was pleased with the overall comfort they provided and am glad that they are as thick or thin as they are.

The tops of the socks have not been sliding down my leg, which is typical of my Hanes (and other typical department-store-brand) socks. I wear a size twelve shoe and ordered the socks in a size Large. They are a perfect fit; not tight and certainly not loose to be falling down my ankles.

My initial reaction after several hours of wearing the socks is that I would highly recommend them. The socks seem like they would be just what a business traveler would need to protect their feet, soles, and souls while dealing with commutes, airports, and long walks to their destinations.

Have purchased my old man these socks for Christmas and his birthday for the last couple years. He never wears any other sock and is in love with this type. They are a little warm so I have begin getting him a light sock but they work great for his job and for hiking and doing anything in the winter.

Hands down the best socks I have ever bought. They are extremely comfortable and warm, great for my steel-toe work boots. These are the first wool socks I own that are not itchy. They certainly aren't cheap, but they are worth every penny. I am slowly converting my entire sock collection to Darn Tough socks. The quality and the lifetime guarantee can't be beat!

Used these for a few weeks in the field without a wash. they never got smelly, always felt comfortable and seem sturdy.

Excellent quality, bought as gifts, will purchase some for me!

The best socks l have ever worn

It was a gift. He was thrilled.

    Warm and comfy, as advertised
