I wear 9 1/2 shoes so I got the 10-12 size. They shrank a bit in the dryer and are now very snug. I wish I had gotten the XL socks but these will work for now.

Update: They shrank again after the second wash and are super tight now when I first put them on. I contacted the company and was told that they are preshrunk so they won't shrink. Was then told not to use heat when drying which is not what the care instructions say. Final opinion is that they seem to be a decently made sock but not worth the high price to me. Maybe I was expecting too much after the gushy reviews. (Which now seem suspiciously good) Only buy these if you want your new hobby to be hand-washing and line-drying your socks. Maybe turn it into a role play game where you dress like a pioneer and take them to the "crick" to wash them.

I’ve only had these socks a couple weeks so I can’t speak to their durability. However, I wanted to write a review bc there were no reviewer pictures showing how high they were so I thought I’d help folks out. They are good to go with my running shoes and also with my mid-height hiking boots. Maybe a tad warm for summer running but my feet sweat less in wool blends rather than they do in cotton. Super soft and comfy. I got more Darn Tough socks on the way!

I learned about these sock while researching long distance hiking. Why have I not heard about these socks before that? These are the most comfortable and durable socks I have ever purchased and put on my feet. I have traditionally purchased Gold Toe socks over the past 30 years. I purchased 3 park of these socks to try and I absolutely love they way they feel. They draw themselves up around your foot for a nice snug fit. They do not bunch up around your toes in a boot and do not slide down your leg but very little. I can't say enough good things about this sock and will be buying more to replace my Gold Toe socks. They are very pricey for sure, but they are worth every penny. The warranty on them is unconditional, which almost no company does now days. I have reached an age that comfort, expense, and longevity make it worth a good investment like these socks. You guys that made these socks did a fantastic job designing these things!

Ordered what I believe is the largest size available. After washing, the amount of shrinkage is significant enough to make these fit too tight. I like the socks, but use them sparingly.

I knew I was in love the second I pulled this pair of socks onto my feet. The fit was perfect, so unlike socks that are either for big feet or small feet. These fit snugly and feel like they were made just for my feet. The thick padding is downright luxurious. There's no itchiness from the wool at all; they're very soft. I wear synthetic socks a lot for work, and my feet smell bad halfway through one day. I can wear these socks FOR DAYS and my feet will have no smell at all. They're AMAZING!!! They're comfortable whether it's warm or cold. My feet stay dry, not sweaty like they do with cotton socks, and they don't lose their elasticity at the end of the day like cotton socks do. If I had the money, there would only be Darn Tough socks on my feet to the day I die.

Well, they are socks! I have actually worn out many pairs of Smart Wool socks that I use for hiking and general purpose use. I turned to the Darn Tough socks because of their reputation for, well toughness. I see many people using them for multi-thousand mile through hikes on various trails and I have yet to see a complaint about them. I am so far impressed with the fit and feel of the socks. I have worn them in conditions ranging from long, hot walks in humid weather, to cold weather walks, to running on the treadmill, to just keeping my feet warm in the house during winter months. They are holding up fantastically so far. Only time will tell whether I need to take advantage of their lifetime guarantee.

I bought pairs for my whole family last year, and this year, everyone requested more of these! I love the quality and feel of Darn Tough socks -- by far, they are my favorite sock. I recommend them any time I get a chance. The lifetime warranty is unbeatable too. These are super comfortable and work well in the cold to keep your feet warm, and even in the heat, they breathe well and are antimicrobial. I don't get the feeling that they're damp and uncomfortable like I do with cotton socks sometimes. I would absolutely recommend getting these. My favorite length is the 1/4 cushion, but I've also tried the boot-length with full cushion. I like the versatility of having multiple lengths to choose between, and it works well for if I need to wear boots or other shorter shoes. Again, they make for a great gift too!

Absolutely love these socks. I bought these and the micro crew hikers and I've decided to buy a pair every month until I can completely convert all of my socks to only these darn tough brand. I was skeptical, but they don't stink or feel icky after wearing them all day. They are comfortable! I just hope they hold up to what they claim and last a long time!

Well made, study, warm and just the right amount of thickness. Also the lifetime guarantee is amazing. The only thing is that they’re slightly smaller than I expected so I’m glad I bought XL. I’m a size 10 men’s and they feel a little tight on my feet.

    Worn twice, blisters both times.
I am a very seasoned walker, having done many long distance walks.
    I will be returning.

Very comfortable from the get go. Great fit. Best socks I've used and, though expensive, worth the money.

Great socks. I use them for hiking and as everyday socks.
I received the wrong size so I'm taking away a star.

    My grandson loves them

Great socks. Comfortable and hard wearing (my first pair have covered many many miles, and are still going strong)

Socks are of good quality material and look sharp. My only problem with these socks is the sizing. Though they are advertised as large and able to fit 10 through 12 the sizing is more accurately closer to 11 to 12. I am a true 10.5 and the socks are long in the heal. They remain large after washing. I have tried the medium and find the same issue as the mediums fit a size too small. As I purchased a set of three ranging from the lightest weight to the most cushioned I can not see the issue as being a one off sizing issue. When purchasing a premium sock sizing is everything.

Just took 2 pairs of these on a week long trip through Algonquin backcountry. Fit good and felt good during the hike and after getting wet going in and out of the canoe and over beaver dams. Would buy more if ever needed. Feet and hikers did not stink the whole trip.

These socks are great! The cushion on the sole leaves your feet feeling comfortable all day, just as listed it keeps feet feeling dry and no odor. I suggest buying one size up as they fit small. I haven't had to try the warranty on any of my socks yet but after a year+ they're as good as the day I got them.

This is my first pair and after a 12km hike with a 35-pound pack in fairly new shoes and with wet feet (perfect storm for blisters), these socks still performed. No blisters or hot spots and my feet stayed warm enough. they dried quick. I will be getting another pair or two.

Id be 100 percent happy but I have skinny legs and the socks are tight above the ankle to cut my circulation.

My husband wears them all the time; we will need full length ones now that winter is upon us. He stands for hours with his job so, comfort is big.

Darn tough has never let me down. This pair is no exception.

No seams, comfortable, warm, cushion, lifetime warranty! What’s not to love?
I can’t wear regular white socks anymore

    Great socks
