Long time buyer of these socks. Sorry but, just received my return sticker from Amazon. These are going back. They are not the same socks I've purchased in the past. How do I know? Because I still have some, unused, in the original packaging from a prior purchase. There is most definitely not as much cushion. I don't need a lot of cushion in a sock but, these just feel thin when you put them on. So Gold Toe sells you these sock holder (you don't need and don't want) and then sell you a cheaper sock. Good luck with that strategy Gold Toe. Very disappointed and guess what, I'm gone as a customer, probably forever. Because now I have to return the socks which is royal pain. Just sell quality and quit with the plastic sock holder gimmick.

Let me start off by saying I have bought a pack of these socks before, and they are absolutely my favorite socks ever. They haven't worn out, no holes, my feet don't sweat too much in them (I wear heavy, thick shoes for work, sweat is a given), they're cushiony and supportive, etc.

All of the above reasons lead me to buy a second pack, especially because they were on sale.

However, after one wear, my second pair has a hole right in the ball of the foot and seems to be fraying and shedding terribly. Maybe this is just a defective sock that quality control missed, but when you spend the majority of your day on your feet, a hole in your sock can be a pain in the foot.

I'll update this as I try the other pairs, as I'm still hopeful, but currently questioning the quality of this pack in particular.

Way too small. I wear size 9 shoe and these socks cramped my toes. I waited too long so they ended in the trash. Bought the same item at the local JCPenney store the other day - same problem but I got a refund. I've been wearing these exact same GoldToe socks for several years, the few really old ones remaining in my sock drawer have always fit well. I need a solution!

I've read in some reviews that the manufacturing of these socks has been switched to Mexico from the U.S., and that the quality has suffered commensurately. I bought a six-pack, and though I am not sure where they were made, I have not noticed any of the other quality concerns that reviewers had mentioned. They fit snugly, are very soft on the feet, and held up well on a recent vacation, when it seemed we must have walked a thousand miles! I was so happy, I immediately ordered another 6 pack when I returned home. I like these as they are the closest thing you can get to 100% cotton socks. I hate the new socks that supposedly wick away the moisture, as they have too much Nylon, and don't breathe, and believe me, that's something MY feet need to be able to do!

These are nice socks. I prefer to wear this style with shorts because I'm middle aged and shudder when I see other men my age wearing shorts with the socks pulled up as high as they can go.
Maybe it's OK by today's fashion, I may be out of touch, but I prefer the 1/4 length style with shorts and running shoes.

that said, the Gold toes have thicker soles and are thicker material than similarly priced socks.
Very comfortable and my first choice for 1/4 length socks.

4 Stars because they are not as nice as moisture-wicking socks, but they are a lot cheaper.

Nice and thick and comortable. I got these becuase the heat in the Summer time discourages wearing socks. Most foot socks are way to short for office wear. With these, unless i cross my legs, no one would know I am wearing a partial sock under my dress slacks.
