I've been a loyal Hanes customer for years, but as with so many other manufacturers and their products, the quality has noticeably declined.

When I received the new pairs, the difference in quality was immediately obvious, especially in the fabric itself.

Just for kicks, I put a new pair and an old pair on my head, over my eyes. I could easily see through the thin fabric of the new pair, but I could just barely see through the fabric of the older pair. And the older pair feels better, too.

After washing them, I noticed that a lot of threads needed trimming and the waist bands are not as good as they once were.

You could easily get away with wearing these, but the quality is lacking. Had these been of better quality, I would have stocked up as usual. Instead I ended up buying my underwear from Duluth Trading Co, and making rags out of every last pair of these Hanes.

By the way, the cost of Duluth Trading products is a bit higher, but I find them worth it. The quality is outstanding. Wait for a sale if you plan on buying from them - they are fairly regular and worth the wait. You'll be spoiled though so keep that in mind.

As others have stated — this product has changed. I have been purchasing these boxers since 2008 and they've been great. Apparently this time Hanes has changed the product to be much thinner (you can literally see through them!) and a half size smaller than before but did not tell consumers like you or I who have been buying them for years. I guess this is a way to phase out the product.

It looks like Amazon has even changed the title of this product:

    - Order confirmation: "Hanes Men's 5-Pack Boxer Brief, Black/Grey, Medium"
    - Now: "Hanes Men's 5-Pack FreshIQ Boxer with ComfortFlex Waistband Brief"

As a consumer, I'm extremely disappointed in both Hanes for tricking their longtime customers this way and in Amazon for using the name of the older quality product while shipping this new piece of junk.

Of course it's not possible to return boxers after wearing them, so this was $15 thrown in the trash.

I don't recommend these at all. I've used Hanes before and like that brand.

The problem with these in particular is that the band around the thighs is rigid instead of elastic or stretchy. So when you sit you will feel tightness around your thighs which is extremely uncomfortable.

I ended up stretching them with my hands until I heard a rip. At that point they became usable.

It's a shame because Hanes was my go-to standard for Boxer Briefs until this happened.

I bought this 7 pack of Hanes boxer briefs along with a 3 pack of Champion boxer briefs. The Hanes fit well, but the material is very thin. I expect them to wear out within a year. The Champions, however, are made of a thicker material and feel like they will hold up much longer. They feel like underwear used to feel about 20 years ago before manufacturers started cutting corners to save a few bucks. I've since purchased more Champion boxer briefs and will not be buying any more Hanes products, unless they go back to the level of quality that they used to provide. .

I am autistic and cannot read or write so my Dad is writing this for me. I like how the new underwear fits and feels. And that is saying a lot for an autistic person, for whom the feel of clothes is very sensitive.

These aren't as good as they used to be.

For years, I'd get a pack of Hanes now and then as needed. The best part was that I didn't have to think much about it. They had the features and quality I was looking for.

I think you can probably tell I don't want to think very much about my own underwear. There are far more worthy topics.

But this last pack showed a different sort of stitching around the elastic. It's an exposed stitch, now. The fabric seems flimsier.

Unfortunately, I think I'm going to have to put some thought into my next underwear purchase. And I kinda hate that.

These felt fine at first, but after less than a year I've thrown most of them away. Two problems:

    1. The waist rolls badly when you pull them down. Something about the flimsy cotton fabric paired with a narrow elastic band. I end up needing to unroll them in order to pull them back on.
    2. The hem at the thigh has no elasticity, so it rolls, too, when you pull pants over it. The roll is thick enough to see through your pants, which means I have to reach down the leg of my pants to unroll the briefs. Not worth the hassle.

Pretty decent for the price. Sort of thin, so I'm curious to see how long they'll last. Fit is good. Waste band doesn't roll over like some do (beer belly) and they're comfy enough you forget they're under your pants. I work in a busy, hot warehouse so I'm constantly moving and climbing on and off forklifts. No issues with bunching, wedgies, or needing to be adjusted during the day. I'm happy with them so far. I was a long time wearer of Fruit of the Loom boxer briefs but those went downhill on quality. Paper thin material, tight around legs, and wasteband likes to roll over on those now so I returned them. These Hanes are the closest I've found to the former Fruit of the Loom quality and I've tried quite a few brands and styles.

They seem to be smaller in size compared to the older makes. I always worn size M on Hanes the exact same model but the new ones are slightly smaller then the older ones. Apart from that they feel alright now but time will tell if the quality is the same.

Very comfortable boxers, would have been perfect if only they didn't ride up. I would still buy them again though for their comfortability

Real comfortable, been buying these for many years and they last well

Awful! See through material and far too small , would have liked to return them but it would have cost me nearly £9 .
I wouldn’t be surprised if these were not the real thing!! Tried contacting the seller but couldn’t even get my message to go through!

Bought these as I have previously bought Hanes boxers - still the same quality - good fit and very comfortable

Pity we can’t get them in England. Good quality with no labels.
    Worth waiting for.

Bought for my brother - nice material and doesn't itch and washes ok

Much, much thinner cotton than that used on older Hanes boxers of the same design. Now the fabric they're using is so thin you can see through it! Disappointing

Some happy to get these as very difficult to find in UK. Perfect fit.

Had to go online and find more of these as my sons underwear was literally falling apart! He claims these are the most comfy ever

These were ENORMOUS-I can only put it down to the fact that theyre from USA

My husband only wear this brand..

Husband will not wear any other.
