A nice swimsuit at a great price. But.....don't trust the size chart. You may need to order one size up from what the chart is telling you. These fit small.

I'm 6'0" tall and about 210 lbs. I have a pretty athletic build with a 34" waist, no gut, and a 34" inseam. My one "problem" with fit is always my thighs. I have body builder thighs that measure 28". I consider myself a true 34" waist as jeans, dress pants, suits, and shorts all seem to fit well if I buy a 34" waist as long as I stay away from "skinny" styles.

I ignored the size chart because I always seem to fit a Large when the only sizes available are Small / Medium / Large choices. I ordered 2 of these suits in size Large which is supposed to be a 36" waist. Nope! The Large is a perfect fit for my 34" waist. In addition to being a good fit in the waist, the Large size were a perfect fit in the legs for me. Form fitting but not so tight that movement is restricted or so loose that you give a peep show when you sit down.

    So, how do these fit?

    - Waist on the Large is not an accurate 36". It's really more of a 34" waist. The wide "volley" waistband is comfortable.
    - Length is exactly what I wanted. I'm sorry but those "board shorts" that fall below the knee look like golf knickers and are horrible when wet. These have a 16 outseam and a 5" inseam which falls about mid thigh for someone my height and leg length. It's low enough and tight enough that you're not giving a peep show but high enough that movement isn't restricted when wet.
    - Drawstring appears to be cotton rather than nylon. That works to provide friction so it doesn't slip and stays tied.
    - Pockets? Yep. 2 front slash pockets and one rear pocket with a Velcro tab closure. I'm generally not a fan of pockets in a swimsuit. I consider them sort of useless. Pockets can ruin the overall profile. Also, I'm not going in the pool or the ocean with a wallet or car keys in my pocket. But, these pockets are well designed and pretty much unnoticeable so they can serve as a pair of shorts so you don't need to bring shorts to the beach to throw on over these. On the other hand, I do a lot of body surfing. I've found that in a suit with pockets, I'm constantly dumping sand and picking seaweed out of my pockets after rolling around in the surf. With no pockets, there is no sand and seaweed to clean out.
    - Fabric is 100% nylon outer shell with a 100% polyester mesh liner. Nylon absorbs more water than polyester so these may take a little longer to dry than the Speedo Surf Runner which is 100% polyester but it's a thin nylon so I don't see much problem with drying time. The fabric feels nice and the embroidered Speedo logo is a nice touch.

Overall, these are a nice swimsuit if you're reasonably fit and actually care about swimming. The knee length or longer board shorts just look stupid to me. Especially on short guys or guys sporting a gut. The long, baggy shorts just make fat guys look even more out of shape. And on skinny guys, the long, baggy shorts makes them look even more emaciated. I'm thankful Speedo is still making a reasonably priced swimsuit that doesn't look like a clown costume.

These are decent swim trunks that are not too long. They come down to about mid thigh (I don't like wearing knee pants to go swimming and too many of the swim trunks on the market are down to the knee nowadays). These trunks have a liner and an inside coin pocket but also have two, reach-in pockets at the waist and a back pocket too (I hate swim trunks that don't have pockets).

Out of these kinds of swimsuits, this is one of the best I've tried. I usually prefer swimsuits that fit skin-tight because I don't like all that extra material down my legs flapping around in the water. So it is rare when I find one of these I like. Usually they are too big. I did go down a size, however. I usually get mediums in shorts, but I've learned that usually those with elastic bands fit me better in small. It is true in this case, they are snug and fit me perfectly in a small, but I marked "fit as expected" because most people would probably find the medium fine if they usually get mediums. Plus, for me, I expected the small to fit me better, and they did.

I also bought these because it appeared they could double as shorts. They are great for that purpose as well, if you don't mind short shorts. The pockets are adequate, and overall they are comfortable wet or dry to wear for extended periods of time. The quality appears to be solid as you'd expect from Speedo. Bought these over a month ago and are holding up well with moderate use both in the pool, exercising in, and lounging around the house.

That said, they are not my go to swimsuit. I still like my boxer suit better, but these don't bother me much in the water as others like it I've tried, and look good, like they actually fit me and are not baggy. I like the leg length as well. Overall a solid buy, and I'm happy to have bought them.

I like Speedo brand, their swim trunks are comfortable and have a good quality. The only problem with this particular order was a size.

My waist is 32-33, which is normally considered medium, so initially I ordered M. When the order came, they had M label, but the actual size appeared like S, had to stretch all the way to put them on.

Thanks for free returns, sent the M back and re-ordered L, which came yesterday and fit perfectly.

Indeed these shorts run a little small, so order a size up.....I own a pair of Speedo swim shorts in a medium and they fit great. I am 5' 7" and weigh about 215 lbs and am very beefy...my legs/quads measured 26.5 inches when I tried these on....they came very close to my knees so they are by no means a high riding short. I like the fit, don't know how they will feel after in the water but they seem to be good quality...very long drawstring.

It's hard for me to believe that these are intended for adults. The sizing might run true for those who buy "slim fit" garments, but there's no way these are cut for the average adult male. In addition, the texture of the material varies by color: some are rough, while others are soft. Finally, they're not of the same quality (materials or construction) as the Speedo swim trunks I bought 5+ years ago. Not even close...and really pricy for what you get. This is a really hit or miss item on many levels.

These seem to run very small compared to other Speedo swimsuits. I usually wear a Medium with a few other Speedo swimsuits but a Medium in these was way too small. Not even a close fit. Returned them for a Large.
They appear to be good quality like most Speedo products but these in Large seem go be about equivalent to Medium in other Speedo swimsuits. These are great for people that don't want the board shorts below the knee look. I'm only 5'-9" and these fit me a couple inches above the knee but not too short IMO.

Nice length -- shorter than the typical men's swim trunks -- to me it looks more adult and shows off my husband's handsome legs! Seemes a tad snug at the waist line in comparison to other swim trunks of the same style, but not enough to send back. Maybe order both your regular size and one size up and see which works best.

I've been using these regularly for the last couple of months and love these shorts. I really like the simple design and added features like side pockets and a velcro flapped rear pocket. They dry quick and are really comfortable.

The fit was a little tighter than I expected but I've ended up preferring it that way, especially since I know these aren't going to slide or pop off catching waves or rock jumping.

Great pair of board shorts. Would definitely buy the exact same again in the future.

Material doesn't stretch at all, crotch seam is way too low, lifting a leg or even simply walking up the stairs is difficult. I have no idea how one can play volleyball in these.
Liner is cheap rigid "plastic" mesh, very uncomfortable to the touch.

    Had to return.

Excelentes. Verdaderamente se secan muy rápido y la pierna es suficientemente ancha para ser muy cómodos

Wish I got a Medium instead.... The size chart suggested I get a Large, although it fits, I would have preferred a snug fit.

They fit very tight but are good quality.
Go up one size and you'll find the right fit.
