I bought two pair last week at REI; they fit great.

Trying to save a couple $ I bought two more pair on Amazon (in the same size as the REI purchase). They didn't fit. I measured them against the one side from REI; one pair was 2" smaller than its label said, the other was 4" smaller.

Love the Brion shorts; would not reccomend purchasing from this seller.

I'm 6'2" 175 pounds and I normally wear a 34" waist. When I first tried these on at REI, the 34" fit me perfectly, but after wearing them for 2 hours they were literally falling off. I ordered the 33" directly from Prana via Amazon and they fit right even after wearing. Big props to REI return policy, as an aside.

The shorts stretch just a bit after some wearing, but sit exactly where I like with the smaller size. The material is stretchy, super functional for wearing everyday or hiking, water activities, etc.

Great shorts. Get them, with the size adjustment.

So, Prana bills the Brion as a "slim" fit: its idea of slim is equivalent to most other manufacturers' "standard" or "full" cut, though. If you are ok with that, you might like the Brion. The fabric is comfy, stretchy and attractive.

One weak point is the front button: QC is sometimes a little lax and sloppy buttonhole stitching can lead to a closure that is less than secure. (A snap closure would be superior here.)

The shorts come rolled up in a tight log shape, tied with a bow: a nice touch.

There's a lot of variability in pricing. I picked up my Brion shorts here for about 6 bucks, so I'm more than happy with them at that price. At full price -- a whopping $69 -- my recommendation would be less generous.

Prana, please work on your styling/fit: if you advertise a Slim fit, make it a slim, tailored cut. The Brion is not a slim fit -- either in the shorts or long pants variant.

These are my go-to shorts for hiking, wildlife photography, and every-day use. They fit great and stretch just the right amount, are more breathable than nylon or thick cotton shorts (their weight is in-between those options), and are durable after weekly use over the past year - I expect them to last at least another year. I hope Prana continues to make these shorts for years to come. The only change I'd request is offer 7 or 8" inseam instead of 9"... I just prefer a bit shorter shorts personally, mostly because I don't care about fashion so much as comfort - and if I'm wearing shorts it's because it is hot out and shorter shorts keep you cool!

I have 4 pairs of Brion shorts (mud, beige, gray, and black), and I really like every pair. They're really comfortable to wear because of their stretch fit. I wear them for every day going out and also for outdoorsy activities like hiking and casual biking. The shorts have a traditional 5 pocket design, but I wish they have seamed pockets instead.

The reasons I don't give the shorts 5 stars is because the area between the legs gets a little messed up after a few wearings, and the waist size isn't totally consistent. The fabric pills up a bit between the legs from the chafing. It's not that the shorts are already being worn down, but the pilling is what I'd expect of cheaper shorts from Old Navy or something. My beige pair's waist is looser than the 3 other colors to the point I need to wear a belt. I included pics of the black, gray, and pilling on my beige pair.

Overall these are really good shorts. I'm 5'8" and fit and got size 30 for every pair. The 9" shorts cut off right above my knee when standing.

I started with the stretch zion convertibles and loved the fit and feel. The zion fabric sheds water and dries quickly, plus has good stretch for excellent ease of movement. I followed those up with the brion pants for that same comfort with a more stylish (think no cargo pockets) look. Naturally progressed even further to the brion shorts. I didn't pay attention to the inseam measurement (9") and they were a bit shorter than expected. I am 5'10" and they are a few inches above my knee. I have come to love the length, however. They look decidedly more "adult" than the baggier stretch zion cargos. I still prefer the zions for a long hike, as the brions are a bit more restricted in leg movement. But the brions are perfect for crossovers between active pursuits and going out on the town. They are great for impromptu swims. They don't get too heavy when wet and dry super fast in the sun.

If you keep an eye out for sales, you can snag a pair for around $50 instead of the $65 list price. Dark khaki color is darker in person than the pics provided. Charcoal is just the right shade of gray, not too dark or too light. I'll buy again.

I bought these shorts to use for both hiking and climbing. I wanted something light enough that I wouldn't get hot but durable and with enough stretch that they wouldn't rip on the rock. These shorts meet all of those needs. They're also pretty stylish - much better looking than a cargo short, and the cut is slim but not tight. I can definitely pull them off in a more casual setting without looking out of place. Overall I'm very satisfied. Only caveat is if you're used to the Zion pants, this one doesn't have the built in belt or the cargo pocket. So you're trading a little utility for a more stylish appearance.

For sizing, I'm 6'2" and 180 lbs and bought the 32" inseam. Shorts are true to size.

Just 'found' prAna, and absolutely love them. For the money, they're fantastic. Arcteryx is my favorite brand of shorts, but prAna is very close in terms of quality, and I love that they have a size 35 (or any in-between size for that matter). The fit is spot-on, fabric super comfortable, they don't look super synthetic so stylish that way, the right slim fit but extremely stretchy and comfortable. Highly recommended.

I've seen and tried on various Prana clothes but have never tried their shorts. When I first received these, I was a bit dubious as to the comfort but as soon as I put them on - terrific fit. The material is a bit thick however it is also soft and flexible which makes them great for any activity you may try. Good for just kicking around town or better for outdoor camping/hiking where they can take some abuse but keep you comfortable at all times. Pricey? yes so wait for the sale price if you have doubts...

Nice material, quality stitching. The slightly slimmer cut works perfectly since the fabric has a bit of stretch to it. Probably one of the most comfortable pairs of shorts I’ve ever had, so I’m hoping they wear as well as they look and fit! Will definitely purchase another pair as soon as I can decide which colour...

Comfy short similar to Zion but rear pockets are worthless. Had my wallet in my back pocket like normal but the material is stretchy and can be slick on leather. Wallet will not stay in pocket from a sitting to standing position. Wish they added a zipper like on the Zion.

Very pleased with the quality of this brand. Style and fit is great.
