Anyone who hikes even casually knows the importance of a good pair of socks. As the old saying goes “take care of your feet and they’ll take care of you!”

I just got back from a 7 day outdoor trek through the Andes Mountains along with a day exploring Machu Picchu and I can tell you that Root Republic made me a huge fan of their product! I brought two pairs for the hike and only swapped them out once about half-way through the 7 days. They wicked sweat and kept my feet comfortable, cushioned, friction free, and protected even more than I had hoped they would!

If you are serious about hiking or just serious about taking good care of your feet you owe it to yourself to purchase a pair or two of these bad boys for yourself!

I bought these socks for times I want a thick cushioned sock when working in the woods wearing heavier hunting style boots and these fit that bill to a "T." I'm impressed with the overall quality and higher than most Merino Wool content. No kidding, these socks are thick and extremely well cushioned as well as soft. They have also held up wash after wash with no issues yet. I knocked a star off because they fit a bit more loose than I would prefer, but then again that is just my preference. I prefer a sock with more compression around the arch and ankles. Not that these were loose per say but they fit me better now since I shrank them in the dryer. I just prefer more compression to combat bunching on the top of my foot, especially with the thicker socks. Not a huge issue but really terrific socks that I would buy again.

I've been looking for a good pair of wool hiking socks that didn't break the bank. I wear wool hiking socks daily. I've tried several of the popular brands, and some were a hit while others were a miss. I'm very picky about socks. I was skeptical, but these blew me away. They wick away moisture nicely. They don't itch, and they're not scratchy. They have a nice cushion on the footbed. I've found some brands to be too tight. Not these. They're like a nice hug. Not tight, but not floppy. I made the mistake of tossing them in the dryer once on low. They came out unscathed. I'll remember to hang them from now on to extend their life. I would definitely buy these again. The only think I wish is that they came in other styles like a mini crew or a no show. For now, I'll just fold them down if I want a shorter sock.

The socks are fine. They feel nice but they don't" really fit your foot. They are kinda like the old tube socks. Still ok for the money.

i only wish they were less expensive OR offered at least another pair for the price; they are excellent socks, some of the best.

Love merino wool socks and wanted to like these but after just a few washes they have loosened up too much and now cause blisters. Different socks I purchased at the same time are still snug and are my go to's. I use these merino socks just around the house for warmth. Disappointed.

I recently purchased a three pack of the Root Republic merino wool socks and have really enjoyed them. They’re prefect for a long hike or backpacking trip. They are thick and super comfortable. I’ve done a few long hikes in them and my feet reminded cool and dry. I like the companies mission and the fact they plan a tree for every product sold. I’d recommend these socks.

I bought these socks. Have Miele washer and dryer and put it on hand wash cycle and did not put it in dryer but hang them to dry. Guess what !! It shrank and made it useless to wear.
Also first time I used it for the day, my feet were sweaty and wet. I still have two of the three which are brand new. Afraid to use them cause they will also shrink. If anyone is interested, I will gladly give it for 10% of original price if you pay for shipping. Don't fall for the high reviews.
