Don't buy these Thorlos from Amazon. I've been buying one pair at a time, to investigate the size of each pair, before ordering more. Other pairs have been normal sized, however this pair (white with blue heels) is extremely undersized. I am a woman, size 9 feet, and this pair of Men's Large 8.5 to 12 are absolutely tiny--like doll socks.. Obviously they are using Asian sizes, or are simply dumping undersized socks on Amazon because they know it is difficult to return items online. These socks are far too small for my feet.

After these tiny socks are washed and dried, they'll be even tinier. I already own a pair like this, and I'm trying to find a small child to give them to.

Another issue with all the Thorlos socks, is that the manufacture is increasingly poorer quality, The most recent socks I bought with "padded heels" had virtually no padding on the heels, and the entire material was thin. I'm hoping they won't also deteriorate faster than their older, better manufactured socks. These socks are no longer soft, but are rough to the touch. They have too little elastic and lose their shape rapidly.

I'm really disappointed with Thorlos' lack of quality control and their constant reduction of quality materials used in their socks. I would much rather pay more for a good sock, but at $15.00 a pair, this should be considered an expensive, high-quality sock. So shame on Thorlos, for taking advantage of this trusting customer, yet again.

These are my preferred socks for softness, fit and feel, and particularly feel, after numerous washings. That said, the main problem I have with these socks is the tendency of the top of the sock to fray and eventually lose all of its stretchiness, causing the sock to slump down on one's ankles. Below is a photo of a frayed sock which I will throw away soon. The fraying gets much worse over time, and eventually I stopped buying these socks. I tried half a dozen or more brands of socks none of which I liked anywhere near as much as a new Thorlo running crew sock. So I recently bought two new pairs of Thorlos to see if they were any better than my previous pairs. The new sock is clearly reinforced at the top of the sock. See the attached photo showing the reinforcement. If these socks hold up well, I will give them 5 stars and buy lots more of them!

I have been running in Thorlo thick running socks since mid to late 1980's. This sock has been the ONLY sock I would choose from then to now, as I am a heavier runner (190). I have several pair which are a few years old and they still have good cushioning from toe to heel, and the tube or upper part of the sock is very comfortable. I must also add that the socks are religiously washed inside out, on the gentle cycle, with liquid softener. So, why now has Thorlo added an elastic band to the top of the sock which is too tight and causes pain and pressure marks? Seriously? As my dad said regularly, "If it's not broken ... don't fix it"! If this sock is taking the place of the socks I have truly enjoyed for years ... time to find another sock.

These socks look like they are well-made, but unfortunately they wear out quickly. Even though the toes and heels appear to be reinforced and slightly thicker, that does nothing to prevent the area at the ball of the foot from thinning out quickly. I’ve bought 10 pair of these socks through the Amazon Subscribe ‘n Save program in the past year, and one by one they start to get thread-bare at the ball of the foot by the 4th month. The price just went up $4 per pair, so I am definitely done with them. Not worth the price!

I've used Thorlos socks for eons--big fan of the wearability, padding and overall comfort. This 3-pack order of their Large XJ-13 came from Amazon with a surprise: the well worn container enclosed one sleeved pair and four loose socks. As a rule, I wash new socks prior to putting them on, but I washed these socks twice to be extra cautious.

When I order Thorlo socks at approx. $15/pair, I expect each pair to be in its original packaging. Rather, I received 1 out of 3 pairs in its package (unsecured) and the other 2 pairs with no packaging/label whatsoever. This was supposed to be a gift. How am I to know whether these socks are truly and genuinely THORLO brand?! I'm extremely disappointed. See the attached photos of how these socks arrived.

(Wanted to interject with this, as you see the size right above here:
I spent decades buying one size fits all and have always a been 13 plus, as an adult.
The absolute vast majority of socks that are 10-13 ALWAYS end up barely being a size 10 sock after the first wash.
I don't think this is going to happen here, and when it doesn't, I'm buying another pair.)

Pleasantly surprised with the comfort and build of these.
Although I expect this for the price.
Giving this brand its first chance.
I'll follow up. Right now I'm tempted to go 5 stars.
    Super comfy.

(Hours later: I wish that I had spent this kind of money years ago. I have some cheap Dexter shoes, but they have a gel heel and are remarkably comfortable. I wear them to work every day. I put these Thorlos on after I received them at my office, intentionally because they're going into my gym bag, and I wore them instead of my regular thin dress socks until I got home. Just walking out to the garage at my office I got a little attitude with myself as my feet have NEVER felt this comfortable before. I honestly didn't know that they could.
It was really noticeable with these socks on, albeit not bad before. Next step here is seeing how well they handle relatively minimal use, and how they stand up to washing and drying. I want to add that they are actually shaped like your still foot/ankle/lower leg. That also told me that that padding might be a little bit heavier too. They came out of the bag looking good, and I have a sense that these might end up with 5 stars and another purchase. Aren't these the ones that are made solely in North Carolina? I will GLADLY pay more for MADE IN THE USA, and especially if the quality is noticeable. I hate to jinx it, but we might be on to something here folks!)

Well made and very cushioned - however makes my trainers too tight for running/walking so confined to casual wear. Would suit someone who gets their running shoes on the bigger side.

in my opinion one of the best running socks i have ever tried. Also work well as walking socks (better than most walking socks i have tried). As ever great quality and from past experience they should last for years

Using these for jogging but am also going to get a pair for my walking boots. Confy, fit well and wash well. My feet love them.

Excellent stitching, no rubbing and fantastic cushioning, I’ve a long term foot problem and thorlo are my go to sock.

I had bought a pair Thorlos Experia No Show Multi Activity Socks and I was very satisfied by the quality. So when I had to buy a longer and thicker running sock for my winter long runs, I searched for a Thorlos. As I expected this is a high quality thick running sock that keeps my feet warm and dry during running.

Good product. Last long. Very comfortable. Absorve the sweat quite well. The shoes might fit a bit more thight tough.

High quality socks delivered on time

These are great socks and give you the feeling of walking on air. They saw me round the BUPA London 10k the other week and are really comfortable.

Best running socks I've ever owned. Firm and cushioning. They wash very well although I've never tumble dried them. Would recommend.

very good thick running socks and they wash well

The most comfortable best wearing socks for squash

The size said 2.5 to 4.5. I'm a 4.5 and the socks are too small. The heel isn't where it's meant to be. Disappointing. It's a good product in terms of padding. If only they fitted me!

    Wearing them today, extremely comfortable

    Really good

Good quality product, delivered in time.
Not quite enough padding on heals for my dodgy feet, unfortunately!
