My husband wears boots everyday and one of his biggest pet peeves are what he calls "quitter socks", in other words, socks that don't stay up. I recently gave him a pair of these Realtree Outfitters Merino Tall Boot Socks and he absolutely loves them. He says they stay up all day and are super comfortable to wear. His feet don't get sweaty in his boots and the socks are soft without any itchiness to them. I am ordering another pair.

No where near the quality of Darn Tough, but at half the price.
Rough feeling, but completely wearable without issue on my end. I could see someone having more issues with it though.

The biggest strike I have against it is that it does not go over my calf, it makes it about 3/4ths up but will just slide down from there. A smaller gripe I have is that some of the stitching at the top has already come undone within a months timeframe with only a few washes.

Don’t believe any bad reviews on these socks...all fake news. These socks are the best, most reliable, comfortable socks for the money. I use these for duck and deer hunting to keep my feet warm and cushioned in the coldest of temps and I also use them as everyday wear socks with my boots that I wear every day to work. They keep my feet cool in the summer and warm in the winter. AND THEY STAY UP ALL DAY. They don’t fall down, which is the failure of most of the wool socks (or any boot socks I’ve tried, for that matter). Buy these and wear them. You’ll buy more and be happy you tried these.

I was really disappointed to see this sock is much shorter than described in the ad and also the comments. It doesn't really go anywhere near your knee although the foot fit fine. I have a heart condition and need for the sock to stay up over my calf but these bagged because they are too short. Also it should be noted that the seller says these are free to ship back but once you read the fine print, you see your shipping will be deducted from your refund. I decided to keep them and give them to a friend or charity rather than get half my money back. It's too bad because they felt great through the foot and seemed like they would have been warm. Also, note that if you want to return these, don't wash them! 30 days return policy doesn't mean much if you have to wear unwashed socks for 30 days.

... but totally worth it! As the years have gone by and I've grown from a rugged youth into a bit of a cranky old(ish) dude, I find myself increasingly susceptible to the cold. Particularly sensitive are my various appendages. I put these socks on as soon as they arrived and was pleasantly surprised at the level of warmth they provide. Good purchase!

Purchased two pair of these medium size socks and was pleasantly surprised that they are well cushioned, comfortable and very warm socks. Only reason I'm giving them 4 stars is that...if they're holding up within 6-9 months (or up to a year, depending on how often I wear them), then I'll come back and give an updated review. Plus, I had a issue or two with the underside of the cuff, it's not "turned over" and stitched so there's open threads for fingers to 'catch on' and may cause pulling. Other then that, I'm glad I purchased them and will probably purchase a couple more here in the near future. I wear a women's size 8-8 1/2 which is men's 6-6 1/2 and 39-39.5 european size...so I basically just went with european sizing on the chart.

I have worn this pair of socks one time and already there is signs of wear on the toe.
One would think for the money spend for a single pair of socks and brand one would expect more.
It was not like my toe-nails were long as one can see in the attached photos.

I've worn smart wool in the past and thought I'd give these a try. They had a slightly higher wool content than the smart wool and the price was awesome. They are warm, and so far very durable. Great for hunting!

    Great fit and super warm

While the socks are comfortable they are far too high. They are up past my.knees. why can I get a proper boot sock

    Best socks for winter activities.
